Is it normal to sing to your cat?

I sing to my cats once in a while. It's always songs that I've made up.

My cat's reactions to my songs depends on the musical notes I use. There are certain notes that he doesn't like at all, and inmediately starts runnning and meowing weirdly, like he wants me to stop. But when I hit the right notes he is relaxed and his look is the same as when I pet him.

Yes, I do it all the time. It’s because nobody else hears me singing except my cat.

I sing back to my dog when she sings to me in the car whenever the cassette (yes, cassette!) contains harmonica. Her favourite is Springsteen's Ballad of Tom Joad
