Is it normal to smile during scary slasher scenes?

Okay, so I've actually picked up on this when I was watching one of Yandere Dev's videos on YouTube. Whenever Yandere-chan "gets rid" of the female student for her Senpai's affection, I can't help but smile. I know that Yandere-chan isn't supposed to be liked as a hero, but I can't help nor explain why I smile whenever she "gets rid" of them (the game is still being made currently). Is this normal?
