Is it normal to speak spanish?

I would prefer to speak English. I love English language, but my language is Spanish.

Actually, the poster didn't say he/she is living in our country, and "American" is not a language, regardless of what Sarah Palin says!

I'd love to be able to speak and read spanish: I think all the latin languages are beautiful and I wish I could read Lorca's poetry in the original

Lorca is actually one of the reasons I've been learning Spanish. You like Neruda?

Yes, very much indeed - great poetry in English, must be wonderful to read it in the original. I envy you: I've tried to learn languages, which I never stayed at school long enough to do, but I think I'm just too old now.

Even when I lived in a remote Aboriginal community for a few years I only managed to learn about 20 words of the main local language and made some hilarious mistakes, as in repeatedly mixing up the word for handbag with the word for young girl! Very humbling, as even the small kids speak at least two languages as well as english.

Yo soy una persona. Como la manzana. Cocino la pescina. Yo soy una majere. Que paso? Buenas noches.

That's about all I know so far and there are probably errors... Disculpo.
