Is it normal to spit my gum on a sidewalk if nobody is around to see?
I enjoy chewing gum every so often. I will place a piece of gum in my mouth and then insert new pieces of gum periodically as the older gum loses its flavor. Anyway, eventually I get sick of chewing the gum and want to get rid of it. However, rather that spitting it into a tissue or a trashcan, I will sometimes spit in on the sidewalk or even on a hallway floor, if I am in a public place such as a museum, library, shopping store, etc. I spit the gum on the ground knowing full well that someone is probably going to step in it and get it stuck to his or her shoe at some point. This happened to me several times when I was younger and it pissed me off so I decided to get some payback by doing it to others.
One time I even spit it on the ground in front of the driver's side door of a car as I walked into a shopping mall. When I came back and walked near where I had spit the gum later I saw that it was gone, presumably because someone stepped in it prior to getting into his or her car to drive home!
Is it normal to spit a wad of gum on the ground in a place where someone is likely to step in it?
