Is it normal to stroke wool and rub between my fingers?

Since I was a small child I have found it very soothing to stroke wool and run over, under and around my fingernails. When I was little I also used to suck my thumb while doing this. Not all wool (a hand knitted blanket is ideal) will do but I do use substitutes like carpet or cotton wool. I've read on this site that other people like to do similiar things with clothing labels or folding material but I can't find anyone who likes the bumpiness and delights of wool. Is their a medical diagnosis for this fetish?

Some folks in the country have the same fetish, except the wool is still attached to the sheep.

I used to do the same thing. Id use the edge of a blanket where its toughest and rub it between my fingers or over my fingers right above the cuticle...id also do it between my toes. I think its normal...just a way to relieve stress.

    NO NO NO NO NO.

Sorry. I just really, really hate cotton balls. Touching them makes my teeth hurt. You're fine, though. There are probably other people who do this.
