Is it normal to suck at texting unfamiliar people?

I have trouble texting people I just met or don't know very well. I don't know what to say if it should sound cool or not short sweet, who knows.

    i have this same problem but once i got to know the people it got better, thats how i met my boyfriend :)

    I'm in the same boat. I think the problem is that without body language, or visual guides to feed off, small talk is almost impossible.
