I am 33 years old and have three children ages 7, 9, and 14. I suck my thumb all the time to relax. I was never able to quit. I also twist my hair in knots while sucking my thumb. Is this normal for anyone else?
My brother does it. I think he needs to grow out of it already, but it relaxes him and he only does it at home so I don't care.
Its not normal, but its a relaxation/coping behaivor. Many people do much worse, like drink in excess, smoke, over eat, cut themselves, do drugs...etc. I think if thats what soothes you from stress, its better for your health than many other things.
Many women I've dated were still sucking their thumb, usually when asleep so, yes, it's normal. What isn't normal was one woman who used to put HER thumb in MY mouth while I was asleep. This went on for the 2-1/2 years we dated and when it was over I couldn't sleep without a thumb in my mouth, mine. :(
Suck on a penis instead. You'll feel more like a grown up plus your male counterpart will benefit!

Habit, to the T!!!! In my eyes it's normal as it's been a habit to me since age 1.
I think it would be normal anywhere up to the age of 14. You problebly should have grown out of it by now.
