Is it normal to take hard classes for fun to challenge yourself?

I've always wanted to take the hardest classes possible at school, even when kids who scored way higher than me would back down. Even when everyone told me I'd fail I still would want to (and continue to) take the most I can. Right now I'm enrolled in 11 classes in total, as opposed to the normal load of 7. I'm not doing this since I think I'll go to Harvard - I mean I want to go to a good school but thats not the reason. My schedule next year will likely include 5-6 AP/HL classes, possibly 7. I just think its rewarding to make it through the challenge I guess.

It's normal. I think it's great that you want to push yourself harder.

That sounds pretty awesome. I think people would just take easy classes for an A- you're doing something different! :)

It's not normal, in the sense that most people don't do it, as most just take easy classes for an easy A grade. But it's pretty awesome and you should be proud :)

no but taking hard classes for fun is a good thing. Just because it isn't normal doesn't mean its bad
