I work from home and talk my way through my work. I do drafting and design work for architects and homeowners, and as I'm putting a drawing together I'm calling out the computer commands as I go and I used the word 'fuck' a lot just in a goofing around kind of way. I worked in an office for a couple of months last winter and it was difficult to sit in a cubicle with my mouth shut all day. I figured people would think I'm psycho if I acted like I do at home. So I guess it's normal to do it when you are alone, but not normal when you do it with people around you.
I do this all the time. I live alone, and it's hard to keep my mouth closed, and not say anything all day. To not allow myself to speak seems like a punishment to me!
Talking to yourself is fine, this is an indication that you like intelligent conversation!
Be very careful though, when you start answering yourself you are on a downward spiral!
