Is it normal to think like this?

Basically I'm a nerd. I have amazing friends and a high GPA. I've also never had a girlfriend, but that's okay. I feel that I'm actually a pretty awesome guy. I mean I don't care much that I don't have, or had, a girlfriend but i feel that I'm going to marry a girl in the future, so why worry about getting laid now? I have my flaws. For example I'm a misanthrope. Overall I feel that I'm a rather interesting person that any girl would be lucky to have. I'm not cocky by any means and I'm extremely shy. However, I have a positive outlook on my self image and daily life. Is this mentality normal?
