Is it normal to think objects have feelings?

I'm a very sensitive person, and I also was taught to be caring and loving. I am VERY against animal harm. I don't like fishing or hunting, but I do eat meat. Ever since I was little I have been a little too caring. For example: I put my toothbrush away in a drawer. But, I don't want it to be lonely, so I put my floss in there. I don't want my toothbrush to feel like a giant so I put a bunch of toothbrushes and toothpaste and floss in there. Then I crack the drawer just in case they are afraid of the dark... I know that other people are sort of like this.. But is anyone this extreme with it?

But animals aren't objects; they DO have feelings and I'm against animal abuse too. The abusive owners need to be put in the slammer for a long time.

Oh and inanimate objects don't have feelings. I yell at them often and they don't respond, so it's obvious.

    I do this, but I don't think it's normal.

I like to think that plants have feelings. I'm not sure if this is normal:/

Next time you take a dump on the toilet will you also think of how it feels?

This is a type of personification. It's a common symptom of many anxiety-based disorders. I've gone through it, myself.
It's nice to be a sensitive person, but personifying objects usually stems from anxiety and can cause even more stress (eg not wanting to throw away a worn-out toothbrush because you feel sorry for it, causing more worry.)
Sometimes this will dissapate on its own, but if it's gone on for a long time and you're worried about it, talking to a conselor can help you figure out the reason for it and help you move past it.
    Best wishes,

Wouldn't the floss feel intimidated? Then gather together in defiance and start a power struggle in the drawer?
