Is it normal to think of mormons as christians?

I hear a lot of rumors of how Mormons aren't Christian, but I know they believe in Jesus Christ. Not only that, but I believe most Mormons that I have met fit the definition of a Christian more so than most people. But why do I also hear that they don't believe in the same Christ? Is it normal to think of Mormons as Christians?

Despite what you may have heard, Mormonism is a cult, and does not follow the beliefs of the holy bible. Mormons believe that they will get into heaven depending on how good they are. They also believe that if they are really good in this life, that they will be able to ho to "Celestial Heaven" and become god, and create their own world in the after life. The longer you are in the church of Mormon, the more weird and twisted beliefs you will hear from them, just like a cult. (I am, and always have been a devout Christian; Baptist)

Mormons believe Jesus and Satan are brothers. That is not the same Jesus Christians believe in. That is a big difference. So no, Mormons are not Christians.

I think they're Christians in the same sense Christians are Jewish. They took an existing mythology and added their own stuff to it. It's difficult to say exactly at what point it becomes a new religion instead of a sect, but I think they've passed it.

If that is true, they will probably be more Christian than I am.

Why are you creating division in society?

I despise Christianity, but I despise Mormonism even more. That being said, Mormonism has very little to do with Christianity. Certain historical events in the Bible have been PROVEN to have actually occurred, whereas the historical assertions in the Book of Mormon are backed up by exactly NOTHING. Joseph Smith was an opportunist who made it all up. While Mormons themselves might be good people, their belief system is as bogus as could possibly be. It's immoral too BTW. I'm genuinely suprised it actually exists, because it shouldn't.

Christian means you believe in Christ. So if they believe in Jesus they are christian yes. That is all it means.

You have used a term which divides a group of people who believe in the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, from other people, who also believe in the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth.
You have also used a second term, which divides people who believe in the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, from people who have other religious beliefs, and from people who are not religious.
Both of these terms might be offensive to some people, whether they are religious, or whether they are not religious.

Why are you creating divisions in society?

You have also used a term, which purports, incorrectly in name, that Jesus of Nazareth, was an 'annointed' person in a surname. Jesus of Nazareth, did not have a surname.

You are reckless and careless with your terminology.
