Is it normal to think that my cat understands me?

I think that my cat understands what I say to her. She understands my moods, she understands what I want her to do, and she understands what she needs to do. She talks to me and we have long conversations. She knows when I just need someone to be there next to me to comfort me.
Let me give you an example that happened yesterday. I was laying on my bed when she just walked right over my belly. I said in a surprised voice, really? you are just going to walk right over me instead of jumping or going around? Then she is about to take a step back over me, and I look at her and I'm like really, again? And then she puts her foot back and walks around me like a lady.

We've also been best friends for 12 years, so she has probably picked some things up about me.

    normal. my last 3 cats I had....I never had to train them, I swear BY GOD, they must have human brains or something because if one was about to jump onto a table or go for my food, I never yelled, I said "Now that behavior is just NOT okay. You can't be jumping up on the tables and you aren't suppose to eat my food because you could really get sick from things and then your going to be in the hospital for surgery with tubes down your throat! Do you want tubes down your throat? I certainly don't want you guys to get sick, That's why I have cat treats and cat food for you. All you have to do is ask me for it some how. Meow, go to the kitchen. and No jumping on the counters or tables."

    I said this ONE time in the middle of one cat with paws on the coffee table, body extended up ward, standing like a human. After this short lecture, they looked at me while I spoke to them, all three sitting like good children in school, nodding their heads as if they understood. They never did it again.

    I swear by GOD these cats must have been human in their past lives.
    WHAT CAT IN GOD'S NAME LISTENS like this???? and NOT just ONE, 3 CATS AT ONE TIME!

    After 12 years she will be very 'tuned in' to your emotions.

    My cat knows when I am sad or ill, and reacts accordingly.
