    We are social creatures by nature. Thats why shy people have high rates of depression.

      Nope, not true. I'm shy and really introverted and don't have depression. Prefer being alone, actually. Having people in your life isn't a requirement. Plus, extroversion or introversion, it doesn't really matter. Anyone can get depressed.

    Its called isolation disorder and my be connected to depression, anxiety, or borderline personality. In addition, extreme isolation causes brain shrinkage. If that's you, get help.

    Perfectly. I don't have a partner, have never had one and never will have one. Outside my family, I don't bother with anyone else. Misanthropic loner and happy to be. And I don't care what anyone thinks as I don't live to please others.
