Is it normal to think what happened to our young people?

I was talking to my 23 year old son. He said he got himself into an argument with someone on the train because a stranger said something that upset him. He said be got dissed. Was ready to get off the same stop and beat the crap out of him. What is it with this tough crap? It happens with girls too. I just don't get it.

I know what you mean- I'm 18 and I despair at my generation.

I'm twenty years old and I often can't relate to people around my age because I don't like violence or aggression. I'll defend myself if someone else physically instigates (stun gun - what up!), but I usually respond to verbal disrespect by either ignoring it completely, laughing in the instigator's face, or tossing down a solid comeback (which route I employ usually depends on whether or not I can think of a comeback).
I would recommend talking with your son in the least confrontational, lecture-y way possible. Just remind him that his actions have consequences and that he can be better than the fool that dissed him by reacting like a man and not a boy (in my corner of the world, real men walk away from unnecessary fights; I don't know about yours). I had this same talk with my fourteen-year-old cousin who was getting into a whole mess of fights in school and taught him some anger-management methods. He's doing a lot better - only three fights this school year!
    Good luck.

I don't fight but the reason is because I know I'll always get my ass kicked anyway

He sounds very immature, but then again I don't know what the situation was that took place on the train.

  • I know what you mean.
I don't know as for all, I can say as for me.
In USSR, Great Evil, people were able to talk together simple. One man was able to come to woman and ask her to take the number, if his hands busy. Or just, if no.
And woman was able to do it.
Telephone on the street. Now we even haven't telephones on the streets. They are damaged.
"Bewitched" - american scetch 60-70 with blonde, Tabitha "sweetheart" and Hubbie, - do you remember? And what now? Two and a Half Man? America was appreciated by her simple answers to the question. Behaviour types. When one man kidding, second answers with a little bit of treat to first, and first looks fun. Cause second more right.
And what now? Straight, direct answers. No matters.
    Mindless war.
    Mindless dollar printing.
We all like a barbarians, like a saints, we staying and waiting for a new moment, for a new age.
    People change.
We should change, it's hard time for us, humanity should change.
And even if you don't feel bad, you still feel this heavy mood, you search for issue.
We just feel it and don't know what we have to do.
The advice is one: let it be our better matter.

There have always been tough guys knocking around, regardless of the era. Its just it far more publicised in this modern age due to mass media and social networking.

And behaving properly is much more advertised to. I think it goes both ways.

Well what did the person say? There are things that kinda deserve a punch in the face, and people these days say a lot of hurtful things. :/ I kind of understand where he's coming from, I've had a tough past and there are some things people say and do that set me off in a way I just can't help because it's triggering.
