Is it normal to to leave a parking space in this way?

I come back from shopping and go to my car, another car sees me walking to my car and waits for my space (there are other spaces available), I find this terribly annoying and I will not leave my space until they have gone or that another car will not get my space until I am well clear of it. Why can't they just park somewhere else? AAARGGH.

    I work at a place and am usually in a parking lot half the day. It doesn't surprise me. About 50% of the people who drive and park in the parking lot are complete morons. I don't know what it is with these people but they just don't THINK.
