Is it normal to treat your teacher like your best friend?

So, I have plenty of friends, some much closer than others. However, I have a teacher this year who I'm extremely close with. He is literally like my best friends. We have a very casual relationship, I don't even say "Mister" before his name; it's just "Hey, _________!" And it works the other way around, he'll just be like, "hey girl, what's up." He told me today that I'm one of his favorite students of all time, and he's been teaching for nearly ten years...that's about 1,500 students where I'm from. And he is most definitely my favorite teacher of all time. I talk to him about anything and everything, from parental issues to sports, to boys to life changing decisions. And I know this is probably bad, but I've cursed in front of him before...he could care less, he just laughs. And he shows major favoritism, it's no secret. He fist bumps with most people, however he shakes my hand most of the time. We talk in the mornings, during lunch, in class, and at the end of the day if we walk past each other. It's literally the same type of relationship I have with my two best friends. So...is it normal?

Exactly how I feel about him. He's like my second dad. Except he's only eighteen years older than me, aha.

I have the same type of thing going on with one of my teachers from sixth grade. She is like a second mother to me.

Yes and I had a friend who was really close with our history teacher. Could have sworn she was his daughter but yeah it is normal.

I feel like it's normal but I have made a mistake of getting so close to teacher/ teachers that at this point I regret that. So try not to get super close.

It's too late for that. He's like my second Dad. I'm most afraid of losing contact with him.

I am sorry to hear that. I made someone my second mom and here I am. I have barely if at all any contact with her because of school officials. it hurts so much you can't even imagine. I still wake up at night crying, I still loose track of everything and go into a zone of how things use to be. How it was to have felt loved and cared about. I tell you this amount of waterworks that goes through these eyes is just ridiculous. So if I can give you one advice it is see if there can be bit of a control while you still have time.
