Is it normal to unconsiously rock your back back and forth?

Helloooo. Sometimes I notice (most of the time I don't), but I have this weird "habit." I'll rock my torso (casing everything above it) back and forth, as if I'm in a rocking chair (with my legs not moving. [Sometimes I'll also rock side to side (imagine doing the wave but with your arms down) but this is a rare occurrence.] I do it everywhere - at home, at school, sitting down in a store, anywhere I can sit. Sometimes I'll notice and stop, but I usually do it unconsiously. In some cases, one of my hands will be in a fist over my mouth, with my knuckles resting on my mouth, and my elbow situated either on my stomach or hip. I've only seen one other person do this, and that was only once, compared to my "umpteen times a day." So I don't know if many people do this or only a select few, which leads me to my burning question - is it normal to rock your back back and forth?
{Sorry for the longness of my description :D }

    I think it's normal, cause I usually do this when I eat at a table. It's just a habit, no big deal.

    Nervous habit, like jiggling your leg. Solve the anxiety source. Or consciously break yourself of the habit. If you have a lot of stress, consider talking to a doctor or counsellor about it.

    Also, much less likely, but could be something like tourettes syndrome (syndrome means a collection of symptoms together, with unknown or different sources, unlike a disease or infection which has a single cause.)
