Is it normal to visit college campuses for fun?

There are several universities within one hour from where I live, and I sometimes like to go visit them, even though I didn't attend them myself (I went to college in a different part of the country). I also don't know any of the students at these colleges. There is one particular university that is rather prestigious, and it's about an hour from where I live, and I would sometimes drive there and spend a whole day just wandering around the campus and the downtown area next to it. Usually, I would also have dinner at one of the dining halls on campus.

For some reason, I just like the feeling of being on a college campus, just something about the ambience that I like. It's worth noting that I'm in my late 20s and look rather young for my age, so I can still pass for a college student myself.

Used to date someone who went to a university a little ways away from me, I was older and was doing college online - so I’d stay on dorm for days at a time, sometimes even a week at a time before I went back home for a few days. The best time of my life, so much so the RA thought I was a legit student. I’d sometimes go to classes and just hang out with my significant other and we always went to the dining hall together. They’d use their meal card to swipe me in. It was a lot of fun and because the dorms were coed I could hang back and hang with friends I’d met through being there so often and their group of friends. I fuckin loved it.

I also always thought about how weird it was that I could just walk about, be in class, eat, sleep, basically as if I were an actual student there to the point no one knew any different. Considered writing a book about it and questioning security measures because I was so young when I was doing all of that - no one thought to check or make sure I was legit 🤷‍♀️ it was wild.

I use to drive an hour to go party at campuses. My friends use to travel 3 1/2 hours to knoxville for college parties. I always thought that was too much I never went.

Absolutely. It's a way of staying connected with youth, vitality, creativity and intelligence. I'll do it more when the pandemic lifts.

Hanging around smart people is more fun.

Besides, students aren't the only people on a college campus. There's professors and researchers too, people your age and older.
