Is it normal to want a baby but not want it to grow up?

It's like on Sims. I always untick the aging process because I want them to stay a baby forever. I think it's because I've watched my mum have a hard time raising my brothers and sisters, and partly because I'm quite immature and like the idea of having a baby purely for the novelty. Does anyone feel the same way?

The wanting them to stay cute and sweet forever is kinda normal. The wanting a human as a novelty toy is not. Grow up first.

You wouldn't say that after a few years of having a baby! That would be horrible after a while!

I concur. They're not so cute and sweet if you are the one having to raise them.

But babies shit their pants and puke and shit and puke some more. Who wants to deal with that shit forever?

Novelty? So you want the constant burden of changing diapers, losing sleep, hearing annoying crying sounds, and feeding the child? At least when they get older they become more independent and less needy. If you want something that won't grow, get a doll.

I don't think it's especially uncommon. It's probably even the reason girls (and some boys) like dolls.

Try volunteering at a hospital nursery or a children's shelter . Babies can always use more love and holding and too many in hospitals or shelter don't get all the holding , rocking and 1on1 attention they really need . Or try switching your attention to a pet they are in some ways babies who never grow up .
