Is it normal to want to do something productive?

I feel so unproductive when using the internet. All I literally do is go on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr, basically doing nothing and reading people's things. I don't learn anything by going on these useless sites. I mean don't get me wrong, I love them and they're very entertaining. But I want to start going to other sites, sites that'll make me learn something new everyday. Learn something that'll help in the future, cool facts or something interesting to read. Ehh, just something productive. Is this normal? Of course it is. Any suggestions?

There are plenty of ways to learn something new
Even just reading this post will do
In seahorses, the males carry the babies
And technically, whales can get rabies
Pizza seems Italian but was made by Greeks
Elephants are pregnant for 94 weeks
Serial killers often have high IQs
There are many reasons why a cow moos
Saturn's moon Titan has an atmosphere
And phobophobia is being phobic about fear

xkcd and smbc are thought provoking

But otherwise it is hard work constantly finding worthwhile sites. If I find a really good site I will spend several days reading it all, then have to start looking for something new to read.

I feel the same way. I used stumbleupon for awhile to find new artsy stuff online. It was really entertaining and I felt like I learned a lot after being addicted to it for about 6 hours straight..

The cool thing about stumbleupon is that you can choose what you want to randomly look at. Whether art, music, writing, technology, animals/nature.. or anything. There are tons of categories! Try it out. I've also found some neat games on there!

  • Then spend less time on the internet or use it to watch history/social documentaries and share your thoughts with others.

A man is whatever he thinks on. Don't surround yourself with stuff like Tumblr and lolbrary etc.
