Is it normal to want to get "revenge" on you dad becuase of your childhood?

my dad's an ass and as i've gotten older, though i hardly speak to him i still want to do things ("bad" things)to see him react and to see if he blames himself

Revenge never seems to end well IRL. Finding some way to move on would probably be a better solution if you can. Maybe write him a letter, let everything out and see how you feel.

I fully understand the urge for revenge and punishment, but it's not going to change what he did, and it's highly unlikely it will make him a better person or improve your relationship with him.

Better to simply accept that he's an asshole who should never have become a parent, and to totally remove him from your life.
