Is it normal to want to go to university now?

Hi,

I'm 19, and missed out on Uni last year. (UK) i didn't come away with any qualifications from college, as they fucked me up, so now, im in a position where, i want to GO to uni, but have no qualifications in anything to get in. What would be my best bet? Go back to college? Do my GCSE's again?

Thanks,

It's good to hear that you're eager to return to study. :]

I say the best option is to return to college, and redo your GCSE and then study A-Levels. Universities want A-Level results and to get A-Level results is study A-levels. And the only way you're allowed to study A-Levels is to have done your GCSE well enough. Besides, going back to college and redoing the course material gives you the opportunity to brush up on your stuff and be better prepared to enter uni.

You don't want to wait three years or so and enter university through mature age entry. Even then, many universities would want your past exam results. And you say you want to go to uni now so waiting would be a bit weird. lol.

    Good luck. :]

Oh, and if you're unsure as to what the requirements the type of course you're interested in, and the requirements to enter the university/ies you're thinking of studying at; check out their websites, email them, call them. They'll be happy to help with any university related queries. :]
