Is it normal to want to have my dog's ashes in my tattoo?

I had my dog Nicholas for just over ten years when he got sick and i had to have him put to sleep. He was my best friend and i miss him a lot. I had him creamated and i want to have his ashes mixed into the ink for my tattoo. Is this normal?

its kinda sweet that you loved your dog and want to remember him, but i find that a little creepy tbh, and are you sure its safe, like it wont get infected or anything?
but go ahead if you really want

No it's not normal! But go ahead and do it and when you get some kind of infection from those ashes, come back here and tell us about it. (Unless the tattoo is on your arm, of course, which will rot off and you won't be able to type!)

Hi.. I was working with a bloke not long ago that did actually have his dogs ashes in the ink of his tattoo. It was his dogs paw print on the inside of his arm. If u want to do it then go for it.. Expect ppl to be weird about tho.. But that shouldn't bother you if u really went to do it :)

(They can make human remains into artificial diamond after all. No joke.)

I've never heard of this, but it sounds interesting.

If it can be done, I say go for it. :o)

I never heard of this, but my dogs are who I live for...and always have been. I've lost several loved ones over the span of decades and I am inked to boot...and with the portraits of 2 of my departed and very special life-mates on my arm. I wish I'd have known about this when I had the tattoos done because I'd have part of my 2 girls as part of me.

I buried my favourite dog in my back garden and could no longer go into it. I had to move house coz I couldn't bear to look out the window and think of him lying there :o(

I'd be careful of the tattoo just in case it makes you more sad rather than help the healing.

It took me 8 years before I got another dog - and then I realised I should've got one sooner. I'd lost a dear friend but my new dog has become a friend now too.

I have two dogs and I don't know what I'll do when they're gone :'( So I understand it must be horrible.
I say go for it, but expect some people to be creeped out by it.
