Is it normal to want to polish my parade boots all the time

is it normal that I can't go a day without polishing my boots until I can see myself in them. I always get a feeling that I will be shouted out if my boots are not absolutely perfect.

    Clean boots are always nice, I mean, no one likes to date a guy/girl with dirty shoes (unless you have a 'thing' for that)-- but .... well something must have happened in your life to make you feel this way - military? parents? figure it out and deal with the source - of course, only if you want to change the habit or feeling.
