Is it normal to want to put blood into your art?

I hear some artists feel the urge to do this, at times. Literally put their own life into a piece of work. Is that mad or is this normal?

I think it is gross and unhygienic. It has already been done before and so have other bodily functions. Most of these works have sold for a high amount due to the gross pretentiousness of the art world.

Not weird at all. I pissed on one of my paintings once before it dried.

I've done this before, I have a habit of chewing my fingers to the point of them bleeding (its a bad habit yea) and sometimes I get an old fountain pen and dip it in my blood and draw things with the blood........
Like little hearts and stuff :3

Well, there is a Japanese artist who also does this and it seems pretty normal to me if you want to give some authenticity to your art. Though you shouldn't exagerate with blood because it's your health that's going to be sacrificed.

  • I've done it a few times with some of my origami swans. I think it looks nice.
