Is it normal to want to test racism in animals?

Whenever I see animals that are black and white (like magpies, Freisian cows, or zebras), I always want to take a sample group and paint over their black stripes with white paint, and then do the opposite with the other group.

I want to see if the cows become racist.

If they do, then I suggest every human should be painted stripey. This will prevent racism.

Also I will then shout at the cows, saying such things as, "You racist cows!"

When it rains everything will return to normal.

This story disgust me a little bit.

Don't you think there's already too much racism in humanity to pass this curse on to animals?

If you painted the black bits white and the white bits black there would really be no change at all would there

I did wonder about that one. Even did a test when I was a kid. At my grandmother's village, there were quite a few cats. My grandmother cared for three cats and two dogs and the neighbours had some cats too. And then we add the stray cats. So yeah, lots of cats at my disposal. In my village it's common to care for an animal you find. Dog or a cat and you sort of make it your own pet after time... Usefull to catch mice and keep pests out!
Anyway, got a black kitten to join two white kittens (one was white, the other was gray-ish)
And then took the white kitten to two brown kittens.
Gave them food (food chunk sizes varied. One time gave the white one more, the other the black/ brown one more), seperated them, gave a ball only to one and then to the other two, then put all three kittens in a large basket and dropped another ball in the middle and observed how they react.

Results: The kittens coped with each other very well. No racism or aggression. They played together. They ate the food without much fuss of who gets more. They all played with the ball and even misplaced the ball. So I lost a cool glowing bouncy ball (Those were cool back in the 90s)

    Conclusion:
Needless to say, my experiment proved nothing and was a waste of time. The only upside is that I got to play with kittens. They are funny and fluffy.

I do not believe that animals exibit racism.

I bet animals are racist. My big male rottweiler barks aggresively everytime it sees a black person.

We have some cattle of 2 different breeds, the only real noticeable different between the two is color, black/white and brown/white. They really do segregate while in the pasture, and while in close quarters the brown/white ones are bullied big time.
I'm fairly certain that they can't easily distinguish the color difference, but they definitely discriminate.

I saw a black red-spotted laybird doing the nasty with a red black-spotted ladybird last week and thought whoa interracial ladybird sex! And then came to the conclusion that ladybirds probably aren't racist so it isn't such a big deal to them.

My rooster only attacks dark skinned people, so I'd like actually like to see that experiment.
