All I want to do is take, take, take. I want to siphon every damn thing I can from this world, from my country, and from other people. The world ends when I die so if I don't take every advantage I can then my life has been a waste.
The world doesn't end when you die. It ends for you, but it's not like everyone else goes into a state of frenzy and grief which is so much that the world somehow implodes! Get over yourself.
And go to a landfill. Oooh...stuff! Yay!

I think the question you want asked is this: do you want to take material things or opportunities? Or both?
I think it's a good thing to want to take opportunities, and even going out of your way to find them. I would like to take every chance i get, but, sadly, i don't. It is something I strive to do though.
I think taking material things is ok to an extent, as long as you're not depriving someone else's needs.
As long as you give back to the world as much as you take, I find "taking" a very functional thing to do.
Get your nose checked. Just because you don't want to believe people like me exist doesn't mean we don't.
I know you exist. But pointing it out like you did is a bit trollish. You did not expect agreement or kudos for this post. Unless you are delusional. So either you are a troll, or delusional.
It's much simpler than that. I just want to have an intelligent discussion with people of all sorts - those that are like me, those that are not and anyone with a question or opinion of any worth. Apparently I came to the wrong site for intelligent conversation.
I think what I wrote in the description says everything I need to say at this point and if conversation ever develops here then I'd be happy to fill in the details.
Well, I agree that this isn't the best place to find intelligent conversations. However, it does happen. But that doesn't mean there aren't intelligent people here.
And if that is what you seek, then I imagine you must have some intelligence within you. Which makes me question why you think your question would elicit a healthy debate on the topic of consumption. Unless you weren't looking for a healthy debate. Sorry if I came to the wrong conclusion.
