Is it normal to want to wear a tilak?

The Tilak is worn by many spiritual people. Mainly of Buddhist / Hindu origin. It is a dot on the forehead (or third eye) designed to remind the individual to be more spiritual. As well as to increase the flow of energy to the third eye.

So my question is. Is it normal for a white male to want to wear one of these, if he is not Buddhist or Hindu?

Your race does not matter since there are many Caucasian Buddhists, but I do not know what the ethnicity ratio is for Hindus who are not of Indian descent. The thing that is most likely to offend is the fact that you belong to neither of those religious groups. If you want to wear the mark, then so be it. But, you should be prepared to defending yourself incase arguments arise over your choice as some people are easily offended.

Thanks for the advice. I figured they would be more welcoming then offended. Most Buddhists that ive meet are rather lax. But ill keep in mind that not all are.

Just be careful as people of these religions might take offence.

What is a bindi? Is it like those insane burqas they put their women in?

The little "dot" that Indian women wear on their foreheads.
