I told my mother about a gay show I was watching and she stared at me for 10 minutes and then asked why I was watching it. So I lied to her and said that I just came across the show when truthfully I have watched every episode of every season. I mean is it OK to watch gay shows when you're a Christian?
Does your mom attend the weekly burning of supposed heretics and accused witches as well?
Has she shown anti-homosexual beliefs before? If she has, why would tell her about the show? I'm not trying to criticise you. I live with a homophobic Christian and sometimes I find myself slipping out about something gay related, like a gay news article (etc.)
As for your other question, there are plenty of gay-friendly/gay media interacting Christians out there. It's fine. There is nothing wrong with this.

do these gay shows stir up feelings of lust or desire? is there any small part of you that would like to have a homosexual experience? if you answered yes to either of these questions, then I would say these shows are just adding fuel to the fire for you. so, why? that's the real question. are you watching just for fun or something deeper? If you are a Christian you already know whats right from wrong, you have been given the knowledge of truth, the knowledge of good and evil. what you decide to do with it is entirely your decision.
It's okay because watching a gay show doesn't make you gay just as watching the news doesn't make you a news reporter. And 10 minutes is a long time to stare at someone. Did she blink?
I love the L word, I can't think straight, Elena undone, Noah's ark, Water lilies, Blue is the warmest color etc. I'm straight (these are all hard core lesbian movies/series, and one gay tv series) my besty is a gay guy and he showed me a few and I really got into it. Now I watch them by myself and with other straight friends. sexuality is based on attraction not cable and HD lol
