Is it normal to watch "lets plays",but hate playing games?

I like to watch "lets play" series a lot. I even visit the wiki pages of the games to help the people who do those series out.
but whenever I try to actually play the same games, I get bored in no time.

is this normal?

I like some video games because of the characters (such as Amnesia, Don't Starve, Phoenix Wright, and Trauma Center) but I'm not a gamer at all, because I lack the patience for pretty much anything besides Internet surfing. So instead I watch videos of the aforementioned games on YouTube. There's no law that says you have to actually play the games in order to appreciate the characters.

Just don't identify yourself as a gamer. I hate posers

Not at all. I'm a big fan of Tobuscus, and I watch all his Let's Plays even if I've never played some of the games.

Hm, I wouldn't say its normal since most people interested in video games also play them but maybe your enjoyment is watching other people's reactions than having to actually put in the time to play it yourself. Since I do play games, I only watch Let's Plays of games I've either played before or don't plan to play EVER (as I hate spoilers) but it is quite entertaining to see and hear other people's reactions.

I'm curious though if games like Osu!, Stepmania and Guitar Hero would hold your interest, perhaps?
