The law and religions lay down hard and fast rules for what is and isn't permissible when it comes to sex. Lots of people believe those rules are all you need to know, and any urges you may feel which are contrary to the rules mean you are suffering from a serious psychological disorder.

Sexual attraction is complicated. Most people really have no idea why certain types of people, certain physical characteristics or particular sexual activities push their happy buttons. Lots of people fall into the delusion of believing that what's normal for them is also the only valid normal for everyone else. And many people refuse to recognise and accept their true desires because they conflict with what they believe they _should_ want; such people tend to end up being miserable, the sort of person everyone hates spending time with and the cause of various social tensions and conflicts.
