Is it normal to wipe with the tp roll?

Whenever I use the restroom if I look afterwards and there is no toilet paper on the roll, I just use he roll to wipe then throw it away. Is that normal?

      Why stop there, you could just wipe on other peoples shirts in public

    Wiping with the cardboard tp roll is just practical. What are your other options? Don't wipe? Take off a sock? No, the smart man reaches for the roll.

    I've done that a few times. Why not? Otherwise it's gonna be a sock and who wants to have to go find a new sock?
