Is it normal to worry about my husbands health all the time?

I know he is his own person and that most people have a "vice"
but he is technically overweight - he is a big guy but most of it is muscle. He has asthma but he smokes cigarettes anyway and it makes me sad to watch him. I fear that one day we are going to sit down with a doctor and discuss something awful.

I also worry about the awful crap he feeds himself, like, fast food.

people think it's normal to be in denial about our mortality.

i think it may not be normal to be obsessed with health or death because of the anxiety it causes yet it surrounds us and everything we do is to stay alive, eat, breathe, invent.

so i guess it's "normal" to pretend that nothing's going on but i choose not to be a part of that demographic anyways.

Move to a third world country where you have to do everything yourself, get into the idea of their traditions, a tradition in which there is no smokig. He would lose weight, he wouldn't smoke, and you would be eating fresh food. I see nothing but positive. Even if its mud pies, its better than McDonald's.

Yes, it's normal to worry about him like that. Sounds like you guys have things to discuss. If he's a good husband he should take time to listen, and try to be healthy. Make a plan for his diet, and try to get him to quit smoking. Maybe even get a doctor to motivate him.
