Is it normal trouble pissing when constipated

I have found that when I'm constipated or just really having to take a shit, I have trouble being able to piss until after I've shit. I'm guessing it's because when your bowel is full, it presses up on the bladder sort of blocking the flow of urine, and then when you've shit, the pressure is off, the bladder passageway widens, it's no longer blocked and the piss can flow freely again. Anyone else have this?

    You'll have to ask your doctor what he/she says. isitnormal.com isn't really the best place for medicinal or anatomical advice if that's what you're after.

    I can only tell you from a personal perspective that I can pee perfectly fine while taking a poop.

    Maybe you have a strangely shaped rectal cavity or something and it does indeed point upwards and block the flow of pee when full. This isn't my area of expertise so I'm only flying kites. Personally I'd see a doctor.

      I guess my colon must be shaped differently if it ain't normal if when full to press on the bladder and block your piss flow.

        I highly doubt that it presses on your bladder as that would increase your desire to piss as well.

        If it blocks the flow of anything, it's more likely to be your urethra.
