Is it normal: writing block

Hello. I've been having troubles writing as of late. I receive brilliant ideas but when I start putting them down on paper they disappear! I'm able to try again and I see it comes out but then all of a sudden it happens again. I don't know what to do. This has never happened to me before. I asked my uncle Quill I asked, "How do I fix this problem of mine?" but he couldn't answer me. He just got angry and started rambling about how lazy us young'ins are nowadays and that back in the day to write you had to dip into bottled ink. So now I'm clueless. Please does anyone know what I need to do to fix this problem of mine?

I make music and get writers block every now and then. I've come to find that inspiration comes and goes periodically. Perhaps you just need to wait for a couple of weeks and the inspiration will hit. Maybe you can try reading some new books for inspiration.

I like what 'drugsrbadmkay' said. If you have a moment where you get a flood of ideas, have a notebook handy and jot exactly what comes to mind and use that idea for your story, or whatever you are writing about.

Carry a pocket-sized notepad with you. Whenever you get an idea while you are out and about, write it down. Try watching movies or reading books, you might get inspired. Take a break from writing go down to the seaside and don't think about (but bring your notepad with you just in case). Go to the museum or the theater.

I've had writers block for a few months now. In one of my college writing courses, my professor taught us sort of a technique to help open up your writing flow.

Write down a random word: trees, water, camping, sleeping, stars, cups, games. Time yourself for 5min and write some random story about the word. It can lead you wherever you want it to go. It can be a history of your experience with the word is or it can be what you would like to experience. It can even be some random fantasy. The point is, don't stop writing for 5min. I hope it helps.

I think this is something that all writers and creative people have to go through. I, too, suffer from this problem from time to time. What I like t do is just give my mind some rest from the story, and when I get an idea, write it down on a pad, so that I can transfer it later.
