Is it normal youtube kills internet

Is it normal for Youtube to kill off my internet connection? To explain it in more detail, it pretty much is self explanatory. When I feel like listening to some music or watching some videos on Youtube, I select which video I want and watch/listen to it but lately I have noticed that at some point in the video it will just stop. Just freeze up. Everything else works, Start bar, New tab, etc. but if I try to refresh the page, it does not load. I try opening a new tab like lets say google or any other site, it does not load at all. No website loads period. I have to restart the computer and sometimes even have to reset my internet connection for any site to load again. This only happens with Youtube. No other video sources or pages of any type does this. Only when I watch a Youtube video this happens. As a last additional information cue, I have not done anything different with the computer and no new programs, internet service or anything of the such. It just suddenly started happening. Is this a normal occurrence? Has there been other people experiencing this that you guys reading this have heard of? Any kind of input and advice would be greatly appreciated. I know a good handful of you must know about computers and such. There has gotta be a way to fix this problem.

I think Youtube takes up a lot of Data. I know anytime I use it I cant have a lot of other stuff open since it will crash. So maybe its taking up too much data and crashing your browser.

Maybe its your browser. Try a new one, or re-install the one you have right now.

Same thing happened to me when I was using Google chrome. Chrome has serious problems loading most internet sites and it usually hangs during loading. It is not an internet related problem.

Use Firefox or any other internet browser besides chrome. I used to love chrome until I ran into bunch of site loading issues.

Also if you are using WiFi try plugging your PC directly to your router to make more stable connection.

In case I am wrong, and you are not using chrome, try the cable connection as I suggested before. Clean your PC from malware using your antivirus, or malwarebytes which is specialy designed to look for malware. You can also use advanced system care from IObit to clean up your PC and stabilize your connection. There is a special function for that.

If all of this fails try cleaning your history, cookies, and most importantly your catche.

I am afraid this is all the advice I can give you. Post the results.

Sorry for late reply. not on here much. But anyways, Tried everything suggested and still Youtube fucked me over. I no longer use it. It's just strange though. Any other video site or origin never did it. only videos from youtube. Every other site I have ever visited never did that. It's so strange.

That sucks, since I have no idea what could cause it. Maybe you should check the wiring or ask your provider if you are not getting over your bandwich limit resulting in cut off connection or something.

Similar things have happened to me too. The desktop downstairs frequently experiences this but we have reason to believe that it has a virus. This periodically happens to my laptop, sometimes it appears to be do to the wifi-connection or the Internet connection on the desktop because the wifi box is connected to it. This has happened before due to weather issues. Weather issues in my area or as we have the roused, in the area where the Internet/cable company are. As others have said, it could be because of your browser. Do you regularly update your computer?

Try a different web browser. I often have problems with the Chrome Browser and Flash content. Usually if a site doesn't work on Chrome it will work on Firefox and vice versa.

It could be a sign that your router or Wifi dongle is overheating. Or perhaps your graphic card, CPU or motherboard is about to die.
