    On the upside, most people have got roughly the same amount of votes. It's really nice to see this here, rather than one person dominating and everyone else feeling a bit miffed.

      I don't see how it really matters who gets more votes and gets miffed about it or not, as the original purpose was solely to amuse, nothing more. The Virgin Choir are actually the ones with the best attitude towards all this. And they could have been offended by it, but instead they're just playing along. They are supposedly the more immature members in this place and they are acting in a more mature manner than a handful of adults, by not taking a gayety as its opposite.         Thank you for the acknowledgment of my intent. With all due respect, sir, I, on the other hand, can't help but think that it is comments like yours in and of themselves that reinforce that dividing effect.
        
        Except the greatest division created by this so far has been me from the rest, because now it is I who doesn't want to play IIN anymore.
        
        I insist I failed, yes, and perhaps overestimated fellow users' ability to understand the lightheartedness of it all.

I think if there are going to be polls like this, they should be about inviting people to give those they feel deserving a special thanks, a nod of the head, some praise... that sort of thing.

Why does it have to be about who's the "best"? It doesn't really help bring us together and make us all feel good.

Very pleasantly surprised that a certain disgusting pig that I can't stand wasn't up for votes on this one. I swear, looking at her username alone can give you herpes.

I don't usually read the sex advice polls because I'm good at sex already, but I do enjoy djpatties random rough manly-man type sex comments so he gets my vote. I LOVE YOU DJ!!!!!

PS: When can I expect the 'Meanest' or 'Biggest Boobs' contest so I can win something here?

I like PapaGee, but he's not on your popularity poll.
His advice is kick-ass; it's why I joined.

DJPatties, Disthing, Badmanalive, and Parrish, are also a few of my favorites, but they're not on the list either.
But then again, your nominees are the people that You like the most, not the ones that everybody likes. Your poll: your rules, right.

It's nice that you didn't mean to offend when you make polls like this, but you should realize that when you do, you are essentially establishing an IN-group and an OUT-group. This can cause a lot of tension, whether you intend it or not. I'll explain how for you: If someone puts a lot of effort into their advice and is genuinely trying to help people, a poll that doesn't include them as giving great advice might give them the impression that their help really isn't valued. I hope that instead of brushing off the idea that you've potentially offended someone, you'd open your mind to the fact that by putting some on a pedestal your are also casting some people away.

    By the way, I wasn't mocking you when I wrote that it's your poll so it's your rules. I meant it. I was trying to let you know that I realize this is your poll and mine would be different if I had my own poll.
    
    And I was just trying to be nice when I was explaining why someone might take offense. I didn't say that I personally took offense.
    
    I don't know, I'm just guessing at what offended you so much about my comment. I didn't think it was a crime to have a different set of favorites than you and express it like I saw other people doing. I'm new here and maybe I broke some unsaid rule.

You did criticize my choices and you barely paid attention to them. You also assumed they were based on 'users I like', when in fact they were made on mere observation.         Who attacked whom? 1) You started this thread by stating possible negative consequences of what I did and therefore implying I was wrong in doing it. 2) You read the original post poorly for someone who wanted to criticize it. 3) If you do not understand that I found 'popularity poll' derogatory (for it was a joke), you were ill informed of my opinions repeatedly stated throughout the post.

        I love animals but I don't (want to) encourage people, who don't, into bestiality... Hey op. I think you had good intentions, i think it was a good poll, and would have felt that way whether i was on it or not. Don't let people who got a sore ass over it get you pissed. I think you intended for us to share some laughs and if anything bring us closer. Don't let a few people steer you from this site, especially if this is who i think. I really like the thought that goes into the comments from Frosties, Neuro, and Anime in particular, although I do like a lot of the people up there and some others too. I've had some illuminating discussions with Dolphin before as well. I've never really talked with Frosties or Neuro despite enjoying what they have to say, because they started commenting after I became less active here. ...Space_Ghost? is someone I always notice for good reasons as well. The fact that I'm pretty sure everyone I've just mentioned joined IIN relatively recently makes me very optimistic about our future.

Anyway, very good that helpful new people are joining again now. Generally speaking, happy times for IIN. There are a small number of regulars who I don't really like, but you can't get on with everyone I suppose. It'd be silly of me to think I could.

I wonder if I've been nominated on anything... I wouldn't expect to be here as I'm hardly qualified to give sex advice so I almost never give it! I wonder if I'm not active enough... not that it'd bother me if I wasn't nominated, I'm perfectly happy to let newer and more active members only be involved (: Trust me to muse about myself for a whole paragraph!

EDIT: as for who organised this, it sounds to me like something Frosties or Shackleford would do. It's a very nice idea, whoever had it.

RE-EDIT: "IINormies"? I've always thought of members of IIN as "IINers" personally ^_^

Worth noting that probably my three favourite people form my time on IIN never come here any more. I'm probably living in the past, which really isn't good for someone as young as I am!

Anyway, I deviate from the question. I'll vote for Frosties, I think.

  I would never ever start a popularity contest and, if I did, I wouldn't include my own name. It's fun, once in a while, and it's nice to be noticed, but it doesn't keep me in tiger food.
  
  Thank you for your nice comments, though. I feel very flattered. There's one thing I always wanted to say to you but was a bit shy because I was new on the site. I saw you giving some really good advice and being attacked for it. I didn't want to get involved because it's not my argument and I don't understand the personalities involved but I wanted you to know that, as an outsider, I thought you handled it with a lot of dignity and it showed a lot of maturity. Also wanted you to know that there were people on your side. It probably doesn't mean much now, but I'm glad I got to tell you.

    Thank you, and what you said does mean a lot to me, even later on. The reason why it means more that you'd probably have expected is because you actually decided it was worth saying even when you thought it wouldn't mean much, if that makes sense. It's the sort of thing that shows someone does really care and isn't just saying it. And what you did was the right thing to do, by the way, in my opinion at least. Too often I used to let myself get tangled into other people's arguments and it never turned out well, despite "well" being all I meant.
    
    There is a thing I'd like to say to you as well. In a way that's almost uncanny, you remind me a bit of someone who used to come here probably more than anyone else ever did, who I thought a lot of as a person and was a bit of a role-model to me once, but left a while ago now and only drops by on very rare occasions; I think Hallowe'en is due as his next coming. You have the same thoughtful approach to answering questions, the same level of care goes into your responses, you have a similar sense of humour and a clever way with words as he did, the same attitude to popularity contests... not to mention relatively superficial things like nationality. This is just something I thought was very much worth mentioning.

I haven't seen frosties give sex advice..but I mean tigers don't have very many positions or toys to choose from. I went with the virgin choir..just because of shackle. I do thoroughly enjoy patties as well. =)
