Is it normalto love swings?

This was obviously was a favourite activity as a child but I love swings and I miss swinging on them! I suppose as an adult I feel it will help me relax.

I'm desperate to jump on the kiddie's ones at my local park but the sign says for 11 years and under and I don't have any kids to go to the playground with to have a sneaky swing! Does anybody else have any urges like this?

(If I had money and my own garden...I would have my own swing, but I can't)

I have not tried that and I wouldn't. I'd probably break my face or something. I get pretty high though. Weeeeeee!!!!

I go to the park at night with my friends, or we stay their around the evening until we are told to go away. We play on the swings most of all, I think we like it because it gives the illusion of flying

  • awwww ouch!, think there's a certain body movement where lean back as the swing goes back then push down on the seat as it goes forwards to go higher. Never fell off but I had a swing under a tree in my childhood garden that was a rope in the center rather then chains on each side of the seat....span myself around and screamed for help when i got my t-shirt all twisted up and i couldn't move. Panicked when it happened, but then after that i did it a lot then used to un-spin myself:)

I like them. I remember I always had a problem with building up speed or getting high. I would usually have to ask a adult or a friend to help me out. Then, there was that fateful day when I fell off one and broke either my arm or elbow:(

You can get indoor swings. Or you could try going on the swings at night when no one else is around. I used to do that.
    Swings are amazing.

    • There was a set of swings set up on a little green away from houses near work...no rule signs or anything...and I went to go on them but they'd taken them away - council cut backs :(
