It's possible, but the odds are stacked against you. Most of the careers you would be self employed in are heavily reliant on luck and your ability to market yourself.
There's always stuff like porn and YouTube. I assume you're not referring to that though. So in that case you would need to know how to *make* something.
40K per year is quite doable with an online business.
But... It does take work, learning, failing, picking yourself up and moving forward again (multiple times).
I personally know people who are making over $10 Million per year with their online business (and a number of people doing over $1 million per year). However, they also spend a lot of time meeting people in person. They tend to have great people skills.
These people are using a business system and are part of a mentoring organization to support that business system. That makes it easier than starting from scratch.
Avoid any business where someone tells you that anyone can do it and that you are likely to make lots of money with minimal effort.
A reality is that most people do not have, or are willing to develop, the skills, temperament, or money to be able to build any business. Then it takes work, work, and more work. Everyone I know who has a $Million+ income business has at least a decade of work into it (and most lost money early on).
It also helps A LOT to have mentors to guide you who understand the business you are developing.
I wish you the best success if you decide to go this route.
It’s possible but it’s definitely not easy and would take some working for. I assume you’re someone who’s smart enough not to fall for get rich quick schemes but this is IIN so maybe I shouldn’t lol
I mean, it's "possible" to be self-employed online and make $40million a year. Depends on what you're doing, how good you are, and how lucky you get.
Self-employed as in you own a business/startup and are giving yourself a salary, or more like freelance work where you have the freedom to pick and choose your projects?
