I heard that 1 in 2 people get cancer, and that the reason why cancer is that common is because of the human lifespan extending.
I'm freaking out.

Most people get some form of cancer in their lives. Most forms of cancer is just benign growths.
I thought the big scare right now was diabetes?
Seems every decade there is some new scare. I remember in the 80's it was AIDS. In the 2000's it was mosquito or mad cow or anthrax or Donald Duck disease... basically animal stuff.
So right now it is diabetes. No one cares about cancer.
Remember swine flu? That was going to wipe out the whole of jolly old England, apparently. Turned out it was a big fat disappointment, just like the bird flu was
Cancer is a constant. No matter what you do its contributing to getting cancer.
Diabetes while sometimes genetic most of the time is due to eating crap.
Aids is fun because it's almost exclusively a gay condition and it came out of nowhere in the 80s.
I don't know about all of that, but I've had a lot of different people in my extended family who have had cancer.
I heard one in three, but yeah, most people died from othering things. Women used to die most from childbirth, and everyone had a high risk of dying as an infant.
When you think about it, cancer back then was a certain death sentence, so for it not to even be the most prolific cause of death, say, 100 years ago, means we've come really far with medicine.
Could very well be true if you take the following statistic into account:
80% of men who reach age 80 have cancer cells in their prostate.
I'm not sure, but you have to realize that that likely includes ALL types of cancer, including a skin cancer you might get removed off of your nose that is in no way life threatening when treated immediately.
Considering the amount of people I've known that have gone on to live to be 90+ years old and not many of them had cancer in their lifetimes, I'd say that those odds seem high, but then again, my experience is anecdotal.
That sucks dude. Probably something in our diet. We eat a lot of sugar these days. Our diet is lower in fat than our ancestors but higher in sugar. I wonder if our ancestors had the same rate of cancer.
It's hard to go off those types of life expectancy numbers because they include infant mortality. Back in the day more infants died and women died through child birth a lot. But many died from diceases as they were older too. I wonder if cancer was a disease many died from. Cancer doesn't only affect the elderly. My sister had cancer as a teenager.
As far as I know most people wind up having cells that turn cancerous. It's just if it becomes "serious". I'm no doctor but that's the word on the street.

Hopefully i dont die because I do the keto diet. Which is almost opposite of vegan. I eat 0 fruit but lots of veggies and meat with olive oil over everything. It actually works for losing weight as I've lost 30 pounds. You just have to eat 0 sugar for it to work and your body runs off fat. You piss on a strip to test your ketones. Its pretty cool.
Sorry to disillusion you, but the keto diet won't prevent you from dying!
You won't lol. If keto works for weight loss then stay on it. You don't need it to pose weight though so I wouldn't recommend it. It will not increase your cancer risk however, and getting fat will definitely increase cancer risk!
Fuck outta here with that vegan shit. A vegetarian diet is not superior!
