Ok here is the thing, the mold is your fault partly because no there shouldn't be mold growing in your apartment. Why would you even let that happen. And the landlord doesnt have to hire a whole crew, it's his house and if you dont want him coming and cleaning it up it could be failure to comply and you could potentially get kicked out if he isnt cool with it. Also dude just clean that shit up and dont be a bitch. It's just mold.

If he wanted to come in and clean it, then it is 100% on your ass! You certainly don't live in the us because he has a right to enter his own property as he sees fit here.

I was once a landlord with section 8 property and I will tell you this: it is almost always the tenants fault that things like roaches and mold are there. It us YOUR responsibility to keep a clean, parasite, mold, rodent free home if it was in that condition when you moved in.

It's his responsibility yet you won't let him in. How is it that you are not letting him in? Did you change the locks or barricade the doors? That's grounds for eviction. He has a right to enter your home with sufficient notice.

Is there a reason you're not letting him come in and and do repairs? He can say either that you caused it or you wouldn't let him do repairs and kick you out.

Opening windows won't get rid of the mould. Unless you've been living there for years and never opening them this is something the landlord needs to take responsibility for.

How long have you been there and was the mould there when you moved in? I don't understand why you don't let him in to inspect the premises and then pay for the mould to be professionally dealt with?

Rubbing alchol makes walls very inhospitable to mold. Keep your walls dry.

I think sometimes with mold it actually is considered to be the landlord's fault. You definitely need to give access for stuff to be assessed and repaired though otherwise you'll get blamed for everything.

I lived in this old dump house a few years back. There was mold all over the roof and walls of the bathroom. I just cleaned it with bleach. I was the one who had to live there, it was annoying me so I cleaned it.

Its up to you to keep the house clean not the landlord! Unless the mold is caused by water damage due to a hole in roof or pipe. The landlord is allowed to do miner repairs and cleaning. They can not do serious things that they are not qualified for like electrical work.

Don't make life harder!! Let the guy clean the mold!!! Otherwise ya just being a dick. Landlord seems ok to me. I once had a lanlord that would not fix an oven. We lived 6 months with no cooking until I found out you can have serious repairs done and just bill the landlord.

The landlord will just keep your bond and if you try and fight it he will just say you would not let him in to do repairs. which is what you are doing and I don't understand why?

Also a lanlord only has to give you 2 days notice to come in and do repairs. 2 weeks for inspections

I'm in Australia so some things might differ. But right is right and wrong is wrong no matter where you are.

All things aside, it's very unhealthy to live with mold. MAN UP and get it taken care of!!!!

What condition is the roof in? I got mold in my duplex and it wasn’t my fault. It happened because apparently the roof needed repairing and in fact redoing and once that was done there was no longer a problem. I was glad the landlord had people come out and take care of the problem and I hope you let your landlord help out as he should too.
