Gaming is just like movies in terms of entertainment for age-ranges now. It confuses the hell out of me that some folk might find it weird that an older person will enjoy gaming but not find anything wrong with them watching a movie/Tv show.
I hate how people put age restriction to gaming. Just because a person is in their 30 or onward, doesn't mean gaming is a bizarre thing to do. It's no difference of an entertainment like reading books, cooking or whatever. You can still enjoy your video game even if one day you're on your death bed and it's still an awesome thing to do. Carry on with your hobby, gamer lady. :-)
my longest gaming session was 15 hours trying to get into some sort of competition (I think but cant quite remember)
I am a similar age to you and also love playing games. I don't get much chance to do it sadly, because I'm busy right now, but if I had more free time I would probably want to spend at least half of it gaming. The "Gamer Girl" stereotype seems to have finally been put to bed as our society realises that ordinary women like gaming as well. Our generation is one of the first that grew up with video games, so I think it's normal for people our age, of both genders, to like gaming.
No, I don’t think it’s strange. I don’t see any difference between playing video games and painting or doing puzzles, or reading a book even.
I think the “video games are for kids” argument is pretty lame. I don’t play them though
Playing video games, at any age, is a pass time activity and nothing wrong with it. Other pass time activities are watching tv, reading, crossword puzzles and the list goes on. What might be normal for one person is not necessarily normal for someone else. My wife is 41 and I hate to admit it, but she passes her time by going out with her girlfriends. The problem is that about all of her girlfriends are single and their interest is in men. I can't help but sometimes wonder if maybe my wife is playing around a little too much at times.
My 80-something-year-old grandma is a gaming addict. Albeit, it's only spider solitaire.
Trust me, you're not necessarily weirder than the rest of us.
There is no age limit for video games. It's literally just like any other hobby and it can even have positive impact on certain parts of your brain according to science.
Going to walmart youd think fat slobs wearing pajamas is normal.
I dont play games, as long as you have your life together I shouldnt judge your free time.
But personally I see it as a waste.
I love gaming. I don't just play any game though, it has to have a good story. Games are just like movies except you can change decisions to get a different ending.
You think sitting on your bum in your pj's gaming is a waste. Luckily you don't think sitting on your bum leaving comments on iin is a waste because then we would not have the pleasure of your company.
Gaming is built to be fun for everybody, so don't worry. It's great that you play these games, because it keeps gaming alive longer and makes you more creative and lively as a person. Don't feel ashamed about gaming, embrace it!
I think it's normal. There shouldn't really be any maximum age for videogames. My dad's 63 and he plays games too, we often play a few online games together and I think it's awesome.
Whenever I got free time, I love playing games. GTA online, Mass Effect, NFS, Assassin's creed, a few simulators.
Sadly I only have enough time on Sunday for games and that's if my girlfriend doesn't want us to go out to a cafe, go for a walk or whatever.
She does get bored and kinda naggy if I sit at my laptop all Sunday and play videogames and not give her enough attention XD
