Is my emergency drawer normal?

So my boyfriend and I were at mcdonalds yesterday and he forgot to ask for extra salt and BBQ sauce, so I told him to open the "emergency supply drawer" which is the front draw in it I keep loads of sachets of sauces, vinegar, salt, straws, napkins. As well as mints, mini toothpaste and a mini screwdriver set. My boyfriend now thinks I'm weird he doesn't think that it's normal that I keep all this stuff in my draw. He also doesn't think it's normal I keep babywipes, a full bottle of water, spare clothes and shoes in the boot of my car. I think it's just being prepared but is this a thing? Is it normal to keep so many supplies in my car?

baby wipes ? is that for like washing your ass or something or do you set then on fire to cook a baby and eat it? how is that a survival thing? having a drawer full of crap like that is normal hell where are you going to find horsey sauce at 3 am. so long as you house doesn't look like a hoarders and the drawer can still close you should have said fuck you dude. i can fuck anyone today and you are not that somebody.

The baby wipes are for spills, so if I am eating in the car and something drops on me I can clean it up. Or if a drink fizzes over I can get cleaned up quickly and don't have to drive with a sticky steering wheel.

We always called it a junk drawer. Ironic considering all the useful things in there.

It's smart being prepared for emergencies. Most people don't, myself included but I should follow your lead.

Only if you wear undies in the first place

I'm not sure if it's normal, but I've always got all sorts of snacks stored in my car trunk and glove compartment. I'm always hungry so it helps.

You keep "loads" of fast food dining accessories and condiments in your glove box? I think that's a little weird. There's usually one tub of ancient McDonald's ketchup, a couple napkins, a drinking straw or two, and a couple of plastic forks in ours, but not "loads" of this kind of stuff.

We always have babywipes in the car, and it's definitely sensible to keep a bottle of water in the cabin, and maybe a spare in the boot. In the winter, we normally have a travel blanket in the boot, and when I lived in Scotland, I actually kept a couple of sleeping bags there from October on.

Spare clothes and shoes aren't a ridiculous thing to keep tucked away in the car, but one thing you don't mention is a torch (US = flashlight). We have a compact multi-function LED unit that has a white light on the front, and a flashing red light on the rear, just in case we ever have to walk along a dark road. We also have a set of cheap high-visibility waistcoats with reflective stripes.
