Is my friend going crazy?

My best friend's girlfriend passed away last week and yesterday i when to his house to see how he was doing and the front door of his house was open so i went in and when i walked into his room there were photos of his girlfriend everywhere on the walls and on the floor and he was just staring into space. When i called his name it was like he woke up or something and he was terrified he said he doesn't remember doing anything and he was just freaking out because he thinks hew going crazy. I dont know what to think. Should he get professional help he told me not to. Is he going crazy or it is normal for people who lost someone close to them? Im really worried.

He definitely needs someone to talk to. He needs a lot of compassion, understanding, and care, probably from his friends and family. Don't do too much, just be there for him and ask him how he's doing and how he feels and listen to him. Keep it gentle. It would probably help if he were to talk to someone as something like this can be difficult to process, but it's not a requirement. It's still really recent. Assuming he really cared for her, he will have to learn to mourn her in some way and find closure and at the same time he'll have to move on in time.
