Is my friend going crazy?

My best friend's girlfriend passed away last week and yesterday i when to his house to see how he was doing and the front door of his house was open so i went in and when i walked into his room there were photos of his girlfriend everywhere on the walls and on the floor and he was just staring into space. When i called his name it was like he woke up or something and he was terrified he said he doesn't remember doing anything and he was just freaking out because he thinks hew going crazy. I dont know what to think. Should he get professional help he told me not to. Is he going crazy or it is normal for people who lost someone close to them? Im really worried.

    It's called GRIEF and professional "help" isn't necessary if he has caring supportive people around him. Just about any behavior is normal for someone recently bereaved and no intervention is appropriate unless he's harming himself or others. He's not going crazy, so please reassure him about this.

    If you can't cope with his grief, stay away from him, assuming he has other support. If you are truly his best friend, hang in and just be there for him. Don't bother him with trivialities because he probably doesn't have the energy for bullshit and it'd be good if you can try & make sure he's eating and drinking water, because he may just forget to do so.

    One of the stages of grief is often misdirected anger so be ready for that one too.

    Right now, I believe your friend may need a therapist, due to the fact he left his front door open and he's zoning out, which makes him unable to function and puts him danger.
