Both the biological and environmental factor into a persons behaviour, criminal or otherwise.
I believe some people are born evil. My evidence is proved by cases of 10 year old murderers.
Not an expert, but my understanding is that the brains or true psychopaths have distinct, physical differences to those of non-psychopaths. That suggests something unusual happened during the very early stages of foetal development.
Of course, not all psychopaths become criminals; some become what's generally deemed to be very 'successful' in a business, law, medicine or some other legitimate field. (They also generally make the lives of them around them miserable and very stressful, but that's something else.) But when a psychopath decides to take the dark side, it can be very dark indeed, and they can cause havoc before they're caught.
I believe there's very strong evidence that criminals are created by the environment they grow up in, and sometimes the factors at work aren't immediately obvious. For example, there's a strong correlation between a decline in crime rates in the 1990s in the USA and the switch to lead-free gasoline and increased restrictions on the use of lead for other purposes in the decades before that. Obviously, that's not the only thing that changed during that period, and it's not ethically acceptable to do twin-studies where one identical twin regularly receives doses of a toxic chemical and the other doesn't, let them both grow up in an environment that's otherwise the same and see how they turn out. And, as always, correlation does not prove causation. But it is a proven fact that lead impairs the functioning of the brain, so it's reasonable to wonder if small amounts of lead in the environment could have screwed up literally millions of people in ways that we still don't understand.
It's definitely both. It's a hard question to answer, I think there are definitely people born more susceptible to becoming "evil".
A little bit of both. Most violent criminals were abused, and or molested as children. I think there are several factors like, abuse of any kind, and or neglect, abandonment, a traumatic head injury and of course a genetic predisposition.
Both, but for the hardcore criminals I'd say born. You can have an abusive upbringing all you like, that doesn't push someone born sound of mind to become a serial killer.
Both, 100%, I know dudes who are dispositioned pretty rough in the head who worked hard to even themselves out through therapy and anger management, and I know people who had it all handed to them and were pure hell to be around.
It’s both, but some people are definitely born more aggressive and dangerous than others but they train up fine
Nobody is born a criminal, its what gave you the motives to make you take the path of criminality.
This is more or less like asking whether someone is born an alcoholic or do they become an alcoholic because of life circumstances. My answer to these is that both (Genetic makeup and Environment) play a part.
They were born a criminal...trust me. The wiring of each human being is very different. Some of us are simply more predisposed to taking the “selfish” route than others.
No one is born a criminal or guilty.
They can quickly be trained to be criminal though.
some children are born with various birth defects and they don't even comprehend what they do or the effect it has on people. If those are bad actions its not criminal - as there is no criminal intent.
I dont think anyone is born a criminal, but some people are certainly more likely to fall victim to a criminal lifestyle.
Nature follows the path of least resistance. Both children may have similar psychological and genetic configurations, but both are different people
It may be that one is more predisposed to enacting crime than the other. Maybe one has a stronger sense of justice. Maybe one has parents who weren't good at parenting. It really all depends
Things like this, I like to think about molten earth. While it's molten, it could be gold, silver, diamond, there are many possibilities between being molten and an actual mineral. When you're a kid, you're still very molten. The older you get the more solidified you become. You can still change, I'm evidence of that, but it's a lot of work
