I am in law school and the misconception is that all who go to law school have only one avenue: become a lawyer (we call it barrister here).
There are so many other avenues you could explore. I enrolled because I was working in a trade union and wanted to become a lawyer and specialise in industrial relations. But now, corporate seems more attractive and pays way better. But I do not live in the USA or in UK, so it might be very different.
At this point I'm not even sure that I want to do the Bar.
You can be an attorney or a notary. Notaries are really well paid here and get loads of work.
You should get in a fb group and ask this question to people who are already there.
Law is a engaging and sometimes you'll feel overwhelmed but you'll love it!
Most lawyers do not make much money.
If you first became and engineer or a scientist, and then became a lawyer you could become a patent lawyer. They tend to get paid much better than run of the mill lawyers.
Have an older brother who's a lawyer - he advises against it, because employment outlook for people who go into it is fairly dismal. He graduated in 2009, but people these days who go to law school come out to their necks in debt, only to ask people how many shots of espresso they want.
You should ask current law students at college if they like it, and find out what the day-to-day work is actually like.
Lawyers are a dime a dozen today. And consider the life you’d have reading and filing briefs and hanging around court houses all day.
It depends on you. Are you good at arguing and do you have good public speaking skills
Yes it is. Law is a very respected discipline and being a lawyer is a highly respected profession.
If you have to ask that question then you may not be bright enough to study it regardless lol.
