Is there any way to get low income?

I have been getting jobs but they are all temporary and I wanted to go to school to get a better job that will be permanent. However most of the schools are in different areas and none of them are four years so if I want a four year degree its impossible where I live.

I have done online before and I don't really feel like I am learning anything from it. I want to try to qualify as low income to see if I could get more money but apparently I do not qualify since unless I prove I was homeless on the street for a year they say I still count as my parents income.

Is there any legal tricks or anything that anyone knows of that I could get around this? My parents cant pay my schooling but I do not get a lot of money on my own and not enough to move.

I don't have any friends I can move in with either. I cant find a steady job without more training and while I have training now I still not have been finding anything steady.

Can you do two years at the community college and then transfer to a 4 year school? I know lots of people who do that because it's cheaper. Get your pre-reqs out of the way.

After two years your parents shouldn't be able to claim you at all so you should qualify for low income.

If you are filing your own tax returns and not listed as a dependent on your parents' tax return, then your parents' income shouldn't factor in to your ability to qualify for financial aid. You could also apply for a student loan.

Nope, you won't qualify if you're that young. They expect you to either mooch off your parents or get a job. Why not get a job like everyone else and save up for it? I had to work lots to be able to afford to study. Do waitressing fulltime or part and secretary full time. Both those jobs are easy to find. Why are you only looking for temporary jobs? You need to find a good full time or two and save up then go back like everyone else does. It's unfortunately how America works.

    • You clearly did not read. I already said I been in and out of jobs. I cant find a permanent one. I also been been applying a lot and everything only lasts a few months and don't really pay a lot. None of the full-time/permanent have hired me.

Actually, I did read and what you wrote but that doesn't add up to me. Maybe you're living in farm country in a very rural area in which case, I might believe you. But if you're in the suburbs, there are jobs everywhere. I didn't even know temp jobs exist anymore. Most hire permanently lately unless you do retail 'summer only' positions. Maybe you're applying for the wrong ones? Try one of those websites where you look for job openings and just keep putting your resume out there or go to a store and ask if they're hiring. I don't know, not to be rude but I never heard of that job issue as there are over 4 million job openings in the US for full time employment. There must be a job out there for you. I applied to 20 places where I lived at one point and got 10 replies and 10 interviews and was accepted 7 times so I had a choice and this was before I went to study. I guess maybe you live in a rural area which is unfortunate!

        • I don't live in the suburbs. It would probably be way easier if I did live in the suburbs since suburbs seem to have everything within walking distance.

I live in the middle of no where! There are not permanent jobs everywhere and right now there is a ton of temporary jobs and no permanent ones unless you have schooling.

That is the entire point of going to school. Also full time can be temporary. There was another job I applied for that said its only 6 months and it have the option of full time or part.

You are incredibly misguided if you really believe a full time job cant be temporary. You also did not bother sharing WHICH state you are in. Also I do not know what planet you're on but the US job issue has been a problem for awhile now and the fact you never heard of it shows how very oblivious you are.

I believe you have to be an adult to get that sort of thing. You can always go to a votec school which is very cheap and where you can learn a good trade. There is government assistance for those schools, but they do not have liberal arts or other "easy" degrees. They are usually a one year course that leaves you prepared and ready to go to work. They even work with the employers who will offer jobs at graduation.
But these are "work" schools, no frats, quads or on campus social gatherings. Come to school, sit in your single classroom for 6 or so hours a day, then go home and study. You want to improve yourself; this is a way to get it done quickly and efficiently.
