The definition of "New Age" is a very fuzzy because it involves such a huge range of beliefs and practices. It's also a strange label, since many of the things incorporated in so-called New Age systems of belief are ancient, and the only thing new is the attempt to combine them into some sort of coherent structure.
The closest thing to a church with "unlimited beliefs" that I'm aware of is the Unitarian Church.
I'm sure most traditional Christians - and definitely all fundamentalist Christians - would consider the Unitarians "New Age", but it has been around for a long time. The roots of unitarianism go back to the Reformation, and the church was officially established in the early 1800s.
The movement began in Protestantism, but Unitarians don't follow any particular creed, and they basically believe all religions contain some spiritual truth. The underlying principle is that everyone is responsible for finding their own spiritual truth and meaning from whatever sources they choose. The New Age label shouts "cult!" to many people, but Unitarianism is the opposite of a cult in that there's no core doctrine that members must agree with and no individual or group at the top of a hierarchy living off the work of those lower down the pile or getting their kicks out of exercising power over the members.
It's the only church I've ever seriously considered joining, but I'm not a joiner by nature, and in my teens I realised that I could find my own meaning of life, the universe and everything without having to spend time every week listening to others talk about what they believed.
I own a new age church.
It’s just a long corridor that leads to a mirror with “believe in yourself” written above it
I just hope they leave Jesus out of the newer churches because he was awful.
I have a friend who lives near Dallas, Texas, and says that there is a Unitarian Universalist Church there that is kind of a New Age/Pagan church. She's actually into that kinda stuff so she used to go there.
Like spiritualism or something? It’s no more unrealistic or stupid than any other religion I guess. So yeah, there’s a such thing as new age churchs
